What was originally thought to be too inappropriate for film went on to be a widely recognized classic much appreciated throughout generations of movie-lovers. The film’s major outdoor scenes, which were shot toward the end of production purposefully after the theme park had opened in early June 1990, took place at the recreated Bates Motel and Psycho house.
